Jason Richardson Sponsors Scholarships for 17 Students

Here's a story that probably deserves way more attention than it received. Outside of Michigan and North Carolina, I doubt this story got any play at all.

Congrats to J-Rich for trying to make a difference in the lives of our youth without putting a basketball or a microphone in their hands.

Changing their lives for the better has netted 17 Saginaw County 2008 high school graduates a share of $75,000 from a National Basketball Association star.

Working with the Saginaw Community Foundation and the Saginaw Intermediate School District, Saginaw native Jason Richardson is funding $500 scholarships for Saginaw County Turnaround students.

Richardson, a 1999 graduate of Arthur Hill High School, played college basketball at Michigan State University.

And while we are giving some love to Jason Richardson, I think it's a good time to revisit the following photo. Remember this sick move from the NBA All-Star Dunk Contest? Come on, Jason. I mean, seriously!
