Chargers Welcome Fans to Mini Camp May 3-4

The two-time defending AFC West Champion Chargers, who in January were just one game away from Super Bowl XLII, will return to the field for the first time as Norv Turner leads the 2008 squad out for its debut at Mini Camp next Saturday and Sunday, May 3-4, at Chargers Park. The team will practice twice on Saturday (10:45-12:30 and 4-6 p.m.) and once on Sunday (11-1 p.m.) and all three practices are free and open to the public.

Mini Camp will be the fans’ first opportunity to see the newest Chargers, including the team’s 2008 draft class led by cornerback Antoine Cason and running back Jacob Hester, along with their favorite returning veterans like LaDainian Tomlinson, Philip Rivers, Antonio Gates, Shawne Merriman and Antonio Cromartie.

Mini Camp will offer a festive atmosphere at Chargers Park. Complimentary rosters will be provided. The Chargers Team Store will be open and selling some of the newest and hottest team merchandise and apparel. Fans will have a chance to sign up and win great prizes and the NFL’s hottest dance team, the 2008 Charger Girls, will be on hand to greet fans.

Bleacher seating is available and fans will be able to see the entire practice field from the bleachers, though fans are welcome to bring beach chairs. Food and drinks will also be available, however fans can also bring coolers, snacks, soft drinks and water. Alcoholic beverages, video cameras, pets and weapons of any kind are NOT PERMITTED.

Fans attending Mini Camp will enter through a gate located at the south end of Chargers Park. Parking is available in the PS Business Center and on Murphy Canyon Road, however it is recommended that fans park in the business center for the easiest access to Mini Camp.
