EL SEGUNDO – The Los Angeles Lakers will hold “Camp Lakers 2011,” presented by dazadi.com, a youth basketball day camp for boys and girls ages 9-18, this summer in two sessions, it was announced by the team. Camp will take place at the Roybal Learning Center in Los Angeles and will run from 9am to 4pm each day. Session one will be held June 28-July 1; session two will be held July 5-8.
“Camp Lakers provides young basketball players with an excellent and unique opportunity to improve their skills and participate with players from all over the world,” said Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak. “Our experienced staff encourages the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship and determination, values that are necessary both on and off the court, and we are happy to once again conduct camp at the Roybal Learning Center.”
The Roybal Learning Center, located in downtown Los Angeles, features eleven full indoor and outdoor courts on a campus that is less than three years old.
The cost will be $350, per session; lunch will also be provided daily to each camper. Net proceeds from the camps are used by the Lakers for charitable purposes.
